    UPDATE: Body of boater missing from Washington County found

    UPDATE (1:01 p.m.): News 5 has learned that Ernest Booth’s body has been found.

    ORIGINAL STORY:

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The search is underway for a missing boater, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

    3 Crestview women accused of numerous aggravated animal cruelty charges

    Authorities say the search is for 76-year-old Ernest Glen Booth in Bates Lake.

    According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Booth was last seen Tuesday around 7 a.m. launching his boat.

    Witnesses said Booth went in after his boat as it drifted away from the trailer and disappeared.

    Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Choctaw Search and Rescue, Jackson Search and Rescue, and McIntosh Volunteer Fire Department are searching for Booth, News 5 has learned.
