Leaders in Greenville County are rallying against a proposed 1% sales tax increase. A group of County Councilmen and four Council elects are set to hold a press conference Tuesday evening to speak against it.

Councilmen Benton Blount, Steve Shaw, Rick Bradley and Stan Tzouvelekas are part of the group. Also, newly elected council members Kelly Long, Curt McGahhey, Frank Farmer and Garey Collins.

The group is calling on the current council and voters to reject the proposed 1% Capital Sales Tax. The press conference is scheduled for 540 this evening at the Greenville County Square.

Curt McGahhey joined the Tara Show Tuesday morning to talk about the issue prior to the press conference. That interview is below.
