NFC East football is different and boy, is it difficult to predict.

Since 2004, there has been no repeat champion, with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles stealing the show in recent years. Heading into the 2024 NFL season, it appears the division title will come down to these two again.

However, the Washington Commanders and New York Giants are making moves to rebuild. Could they make a surprising run at the division? Let's dive into our record predictions for each team.

    Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles writer Kelsey Kramer: All eyes will be on head coach Nick Sirianni and his new coaching staff in 2024 after the Eagles embarrassingly dropped a 10-1 start to their season last year. If Sirianni wants to return in 2025, then he's going to need to start and finish strong, which is something the Eagles are more than capable of doing this fall based on their roster additions and the NFL gifting them the ninth-easiest schedule.

The Eagles spent early offseason really honing in on their weakest link (their secondary) and turned it into their strongest link in a matter of weeks. They brought back CJ Gardner-Johnson in free agency and drafted two of the best and versatile defensive backs in the 2024 NFL Draft, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. The Eagles also bolstered their already weapon heavy offense and invested in dual-threat running back Saquon Barkley.

On top of those acquisitions, the Eagles spent spring workouts perfecting their communication skills and made extra effort for team bonding activities, something they lacked in 2023.

They’re doing everything in their power both on and off the filed to have success this season and there’s no doubt that it’s ultimately going to pay off in their favor.

    Final record prediction: 14-3

    Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys writer Mauricio Rodríguez: A lot has been made about the Cowboys' controversial offseason in which they lost more talent than they gained, with their biggest moves being the additions of Eric Kendricks and Ezekiel Elliott. Additionally, the team has not steered itself away from drama as Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have yet to receive contract extensions ahead of the 2024 season.

However, this team is still way too talented to not have a successful regular season. Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs, DeMarcus Lawrence, and DaRon Bland will give new DC Mike Zimmer plenty to work with to sustain the defensive success the Cowboys found under Dan Quinn.

On offense, you've got to hand it to Mike McCarthy: He found the recipe. With the rise of Prescott and Lamb as one of the best QB-WR duos in the league, the Cowboys finished the season as one of the best units in the league, ranking second in EPA/play and first in points scored per game (30.1).

I see them winning a lot of games and with a legit shot at defending their NFC East title. The question remains whether or not they'll show up in the playoffs.

    Final record prediction: 11-6

    Washington Commanders

Commanders writer Evan Winter: The Commanders have done a good job of retooling their roster for the 2024 season and Dan Quinn and co. certainly have a plan for the franchise . The current optimism around the team is both palpable and justified.

At the same time, however, there are still questions at premium positions and the team’s overall lack of depth is worrisome. Quarterback, left tackle, cornerback, and even receiver, all have questions that the team may not have answers to in 2024. And, if anyone important goes down for an extend period of time, the depth is shaky, at best. Sans the linebacker room.

With all that being said, the Commanders won’t be picking in the top-5 of the 2025 draft, but a top-10 or top-12 scenario certainly seems realistic.

    Final record prediction: 6-11

    New York Giants

Giants contributor Mauricio Rodriguez: The Giants have some foundational pieces in place, including left tackle Andrew Thomas and the promising rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. However, the roster still needs a lot of work and that starts with the offensive line, which is projected to be among the worst in the NFL in 2024.

Question marks exist at quarterback, whether it's Daniel Jones or Drew Lock starting in Week 1 as Jones navigates an injury that kept him from playing the second half of the 2023 season.

Unless they prove the world wrong, this might be the year that positions the Giants in a spot to be thinking quarterback in the next NFL Draft.

    Final record prediction: 4-13
