EXPIRED: Tornado Warning issued for Chemung County

UPDATE: A tornado warning issued for Chemung County has expired. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains active for Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga NY, and Tompkins Counties until 2:45 p.m.

Both Steuben and Schuyler Counties have downgraded from a Tornado Warning to Severe Thunder Storm Warning while Chemung County remains in a Tornado Warning until 2:15 p.m.

Severe Thunder Storm Warnings are in effect until 2:45 p.m. in Chemung, Tioga, Schuyler, and Tompkins Counties.

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — The National Weather Service out of Binghamton has issued a Tornado Warning for Steuben, Schuyler, and Chemung Counties at 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

Around 1:43 p.m. a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over South Corning and Corning moving northeast at 30 mph.
