    Fairfax Connector fares to increase in July

    FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Fairfax Connector riders will have to pay more starting July 29.

    On Tuesday, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to increase Fairfax Connector fares to keep with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s fare increase implemented on June 30.

    Fairfax County officials said the last fare increase happened in June of 2017.

    Starting Monday, July 29, Fairfax Connector fares will increase by around 12.5%.

    The new fares are as follows:

    • Base fare: $2.25
    • Base fare for older adults and people with disabilities: $1.10
    • 393, 394, 395, 396, 598, 599, 697, 698, 699, 798, 835
      • Standard: $4.80
      • Older adults and people with disabilities: $2.40
    • 350, 423, 427: $0.55

    Officials said that the Wolf Trap Express (Route 480) will stay at a $5 fare.

    There is also still a discount for transfers to and from Metrorail and buses — as well as free unlimited local bus-to-bus transfers within two hours.
