Pat McAfee on Tuesday delivered an on-air message about ESPN during "The Pat McAfee Show" on the network. The former NFL punter threw shade at ESPN's recent  ranking of the top 100 athletes in the 21st century.

Despite McAfee working for the ESPN network, he said he believes the list was the "epitome of everything that everybody hates about ESPN."

A couple of rankings on the list include NBA legend Steve Nash at No. 51, MLB icon Derek Jeter at No. 53, MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani at No. 62, and MMA fighter Jon Jones at No. 66.

"It is the epitome of everything that everybody hates about ESPN. ... What a sh-- show," McAfee said.

McAfee has been with ESPN since September of 2023. He signed a reported five-year, $85 million contract with the media network. The show was first produced in 2019 when McAfee had a multiyear deal with DAZN, but the cast took their talents to YouTube in 2020 and ESPN in 2023.

The popular media member is known for his off-the-rail comments, and it seems that was displayed in his latest remark about ESPN.

He may have a deal with the company, but McAfee believes the network's rankings were outrageous.
