    Morris County, NJ – Unity Charter School and The New Jersey School of Conservation (NJSOC), in collaboration with Ramapo College, is thrilled to announce a series of Climate Change Professional Development workshops for K-12 public and charter school teachers across New Jersey. This initiative is part of the statewide Climate Change Learning Collaborative grant from the Department of Education, aimed at equipping educators with the tools and knowledge to integrate climate change education into their teaching practices.

    • Daily Stipend : Participating teachers will receive a $150 stipend for each workshop attended.
    • Unique Learning Experiences : The workshops will offer a blend of science content, expert guest speakers, innovative lessons, and both indoor and outdoor learning activities.
    • Free Lodging : Complimentary overnight lodging in cabin-style housing at NJSOC is available for all participants.
    • Comprehensive Toolkits : Attendees will receive workshop toolkits to help them incorporate climate change education into their classrooms effectively.

    The NJSOC PD Summer Climate Change Learning Collaborative has released the full draft agendas for each day of the summer Professional Development week, featuring a diverse range of activities designed to engage and inform educators. The agendas are available online, providing a detailed schedule of the unique blend of science content, expert guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences planned for each day.

    Educators from Unity and beyond have already registered, and we are eager to extend this opportunity to as many K-12 public and charter school teachers in New Jersey as possible. This professional development series is an excellent chance for teachers to enhance their skills, earn a stipend, and contribute to an essential area of education.
