In a press release shared on Tuesday, ABC News Studios announced the upcoming arrival of the three-part docuseries titled Betrayal: A Father’s Secret , which centers on a mother of three in Utah named Ashley Lytton “as she unearths her husband Jason’s secret, leaving her fearing for her family’s safety and future.”
“Following this devastating discovery, Ashley takes swift action to safeguard her family from the man she thought she knew best, unraveling a tangled web of dark truths along the way,” the release continues.
According to ABC 4 Utah , Jason was booked in 2021 on 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, but ultimately was indicted on two misdemeanor counts of voyeurism, a third-degree felony of obstructing justice, and 10 counts of second-degree felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. Per the outlet, Jason was exposed after someone assisting him with creating a Venmo account discovered “hundreds” of photographs featuring naked young girls. The police came across over 1,000 of these pictures on Jason’s phone after securing a search warrant.
In 2022, the outlet reported that Jason secured a plea deal, through which he pleaded guilty to two voyeurism charges and one of the second-degree felony charges of sexually exploiting a minor. Via said deal, he would spend 329 days in Salt Lake County Jail and submit to two years of supervised probation. Other aspects of the deal involve Jason not being allowed access to the internet, and being required to fulfill a cognitive behavioral program and a mental health evaluation. He would also have to take part in a parenting class and comply with the conditions of Group A Sex Offenders .
