Moose on the Loose: Dynamic reunion

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Tim Boyle, Allen Lazard, Billy Turner and who could forget Randall Cobb?

Those are just a few of the former Green Bay Packers who joined the New York Jets a year ago at quarterback Aaron Rodgers’s behest.

Rodgers wanted to be comfortable, and I get it. With the latest rumblings that the Jets will eventually end up trading for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams either in late August or early September, there is no question that every Jets fan will be on board.

After all, this is an all-in season.

Adams and Rodgers are close friends, and Adams is a brilliant wide receiver in the NFL. He might be the best route runner in the NFL.

He has had 100 or more receptions in the last four seasons and has caught 95 touchdown passes for his career.

Adams’ agent said the rumors are baseless, and Davante is expected to be a Raider, and there is no trade talk.

Here is my question: then why would Aaron Rodgers say last week that he is looking forward to playing with Adams again?

I am a believer that where there is smoke, there is fire. A trio of wideouts of Adams, Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams might be the best in the NFL if this trade eventually goes down. It would make the skill position players for the Jets exceptional and make the offense even more dynamic.

But the question remains: will it happen?

Whether it happens or not, the goal remains the same for Rodgers and the Jets: go win some football games.
