    VSP reveals age of girl killed in horse-drawn buggy crash in Cumberland County

    CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police (VSP) has revealed the age of the girl killed in a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy in Cumberland County over the weekend.

    According to police, an Amish horse-drawn carriage was heading south on Cumberland Road near Blanton Farm Road at around 6:16 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, when it was struck from behind by the driver of a Ford F-250.

    Everyone in the buggy was ejected, including an 8-year-old girl who died at the scene.

    The driver of the carriage, identified as 34-year-old Enos King, and 35-year-old Katherine King, as well as a 9-year-old boy, 6-year-old girl, 4-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy, were all taken to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond with serious injuries. The horse suffered minor injuries.

    The driver of the F-250, identified as Mack H. Robinson of Farmville, was not injured in the crash. Charges for him are pending, according to police. The crash is still under investigation.
