Free Crumbl cookies will be given to customers who celebrate the dessert chain's newest location in Columbia County.

The store officially opens at 8 a.m. July 19 at 285 Meridian Dr., Suite 6B, in Grovetown. It's in Gateway Plaza, off Horizon South Parkway and across from the larger Gateway commercial cluster north of the city limits.

Starting July 22, customers who downloaded the Crumbl app can use the promo code GAGROVETOWN to get one free chocolate chip cookie at the Grovetown location. The promotion will last 30 days.

The new store will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. The store will be closed Sundays.

The franchise owner of the new Crumbl's is Charles Terry, who bought the Augusta area's first Crumbl franchise in October 2022 from its previous owners, Dr. Troy and Nancy Akers.

In the short six months that the Akers ran their Crumbl at Mullins Colony in Evans, the location often led the entire nation in revenue among all Crumbl shops.

Terry's business partner in that transaction was childhood friend and NBA forward Tobias Harris, who signed a two-year, $52 million contract July 8 to return to the Detroit Pistons, one of four teams he played for in his 13-year pro career.
