Two different job fairs are set this month to help employ veterans or those in medical professions.

One is specific to Sarasota County government jobs; the second is for openings at HCA Englewood.

According to a news release, a job fair for veterans takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, July 25, at the Florida Department of Health building, 2200 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.

It is "in honor of 'National Hire a Veteran Day,'" according to a news release from Sarasota County. More than 70 job openings exist, it stated.

“We truly appreciate the commitment of service from our veterans,” Chief Veterans Services Officer Darrell Butler stated in the news release. “When veterans work for Sarasota County, they are able to continue their passion for public service and be surrounded by a team that shares the same sentiment.”

The positions are online at scgov.net/jobs.

Anyone in the community can apply for the openings; veterans can receive "Veterans' Preference," that recognizes "the discipline and mission-driven mindset they bring to public service," the news release stated.

A few days later, HCA Florida Englewood Hospital hosts its own "in-person hiring event," it stated.

It takes place from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the Suncoast Auditorium, 779 Medical Drive, Englewood.

    Nurses are needed, it noted.

"Registered nurses experienced in surgery, cardiac catheterization, emergency, intensive care, medical/surgical/telemetry and progressive care, graduate RNs, respiratory therapists, cardiac catherization technicians and cardiovascular technicians II are being sought to join the Englewood Hospital team," the news release stated.

The event will give potential employees a chance to meet Englewood staff members, talk with hiring managers and learn about HCA Englewood's benefits, it stated.

Qualified candidates may receive "same-day offers" and suggested those interested can register for the event now.

“We care a lot about the communities we serve and our colleagues. We seek candidates to help us make a difference in people’s lives and build a healthier tomorrow for our region. Our team cares like family for our patients and people,” Chief Executive Officer Joe Rudisill stated in the news release.
