CLAYTON — The Clayton Chamber Foundation has awarded eight United Community Bank First Responders Scholarships.
These scholarships support first responders from Johnston County Emergency Services, the Clayton Police Department and the Clayton Fire Department in their professional development.
The scholarship winners are list below by agency:
Johnston County EMS — Katelyn Blackmon, Jordan Clemmons, Stacey Coker, Adam Godwin, Shaughnessy Newsome and Tanna Twigg.
Clayton Police Department — Johnathon K. Guider and Alexandria Woodall.
Six scholarship recipients met the foundation’s chairman, Jim Perricone, and received their checks from Brent George of United Community Bank, the foundation’s treasurer and scholarship donor.
Formal check presentations to each recipient will take place at the chamber’s First Responders Appreciation Breakfast in September.
“Congratulations to all the scholarship recipients and our deepest gratitude to all first responders for their unwavering dedication and service to our community,” the chamber said in a Facebook post.
