BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WIAT) – A $25,000 reward has been offered by the Birmingham Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama for information in the case of five-year-old shooting victim Landyn Brooks.

$20,000 of this reward comes from Mayor Randall Woodfin’s Gun Violence Against Children Fund.

Board Chairman Frank Barefield said, “We feel that during National Crime Victims Rights Week is the right time to send the message that reckless gun violence against the children of our community will not be tolerated. Those responsible for the injury or death of a child will be held accountable for their actions. We hope the reward money increase will enable law enforcement to bring justice to this family.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (205) 254 7777.
