Critics are labeling this as possibly the most disastrous rendition of the National Anthem to date. Ingrid Andress, honored with the opportunity to perform at the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby baseball game, delivered a rendition that fell significantly short. Singing the National Anthem is notoriously challenging and important, and Andress's performance left much to be desired, failing to meet the song's standards.

Videos of the performance quickly broke the internet and the comment sections were ruthless. One remark quipped, "Deaf people dodged a bullet with this one," while another joked, "This one made Trumps' other ear bleed." Notably absent were any positive comments about the performance.

The morning after the performance debacle, Ingrid turned to social media to address her fans. She admitted to being intoxicated and issued apologies not only to the MLB and the fans but to the entire nation, expressing deep embarrassment over her botched rendition of such a significant song.

Andress' post read, " I am not going to bulls*** ya'll, I was drunk last night. I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to the MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let ya'll know how rehab is I hear it's super fun ."

Fans and other music stars showed much empathy, support, and respect for Ingrid and her apology and explanation. Carly Pearce commented with, "I’m sending you love, Ingrid. Being this open takes a lot. You’ve got this. Hang in there. ❤️" Karen Fairchild herself and her band Little Big Town also commented encouraging Andress. A fan commented, "I saw you live at Alanis a few weeks ago and you def did not sound how you did last night. You are an amazing song writer/singer! Your comeback will be your story, you got this!"

Ingrid Andress is known as an artist with diverse music and a unique sound. Her breakthrough single, 'More Hearts Than Mine,' was very successful reaching number 30 on the Billboard 100. Her duet with Sam Hunt, 'Wishful Drinking,' is another one of her notable hits. With success like hers, and an understanding and forgiving fan base stretched across genres, we are sure to see her back on stage soon.

Tonight, July 16, Cody Johnson will sing the national anthem at the MLB All Star Game, and fans are expecting this rendition to be spectacular. As for Ingrid, well this definitely put a kink in her career, though the forgiving world of country music fans will likely continue to embrace her music when she is back to herself.
