    Fallen Connecticut State Police trooper’s name engraved on memorial in Meriden

    MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Connecticut State Police trooper who was killed in the line of duty in May was honored Wednesday in Meriden.

    Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier’s name was engraved on the Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial at the Training Academy.

    Pelletier, a nine-year veteran with the Connecticut State Police and K-9 handler, was conducting a traffic stop on May 30 on Interstate 84 in Southington when he was hit by a vehicle. The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

    According to state police, Pelletier will receive official honors on May 15, National Peace Officers Memorial Day, when all fallen Connecticut law enforcement officers are remembered.

    The Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial on Preston Avenue in Meriden is open to the public 365 days a year.
