Since 2016, Inside Studio G has been a weekly highlight for fans of Garth Brooks. Every Monday, the country megastar would spend time chatting with fans, talking about his long and successful career, sharing exclusive news, and more. He recently announced the show will come to an end after an eight-year run.

On Monday (July 15), Brooks announced in a statement that he would likely be retiring the show later this year. “I think we’re going to put an end to Inside Studio G this year,” he shared. He didn’t give an exact date but said the long-running show would end “probably sometime around Christmas.”

Inside Studio G started small. In July 2016, it began airing on his official Facebook page as well as his channel on Sirius XM. Today, it also streams on his official website and The Garth Channel on TuneIn. Since its inception, the weekly show has offered fans a way to connect with Brooks on an intimate level. There’s no word on why Brooks plans to end the show later this year. However, all good things must come to an end.

Garth Brooks to Join Austin City Limits Hall of Fame

Austin City Limits will mark its 50th anniversary later this year. On September 5, Garth Brooks will enter the ACL Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame has existed for a decade and this year will mark the first time that it has only inducted one new member.

Brooks spoke about the honor in a statement. “To be part of anything Austin City Limits is and always has been an honor,” he shared. “I am humbled and grateful to not only be part of the 50th anniversary but to be inducted into the ACL Hall of Fame,” he added.

Brooks first appeared on the long-running music series in 1990 and has been involved in several events connected to the show since then. Terry Lickona, Austin City Limits executive producer spoke about the country superstar in a statement. “Garth is a special friend. There’s no one else quite like him. He never forgets his roots or the people who were there for him in those early days,” Lickona shared. “He hit the ACL stage just as his career was taking off, kicked off our 25th anniversary season, and now almost 25 years later, it’s our turn to honor him.
