Makeover complete at both Grand Casino locations

A nine-month renovation of both Grand Casino locations recently wrapped up, with the hotels now featuring refreshed lobbies and guest rooms and art installations celebrating the cultural heritage of the Anishinaabe people.

Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV), the Mille Lacs Band of Objibwe's business management entity, unveiled the changes to the hotel properties in Mille Lacs and Hinckley with grand re-opening celebration featuring a ribbon cutting and tours.

“These renovations not only enhance the guest experience but also demonstrate our commitment to providing a fun and enjoyable workplace for our associates," stated Ronda Weizenegger, chief executive officer of Grand Casinos.

According to MLCV, the refreshed guest rooms blend modern ambiance with nods to Ojibwe culture and feature enhanced amenities, such as high-quality bedding and modern entertainment systems.

Guests can also now enjoy an upgraded presidential suite, as well as themed-suites.

Finishes touches are underway on the themed-suites, which include English pub-inspired, Scandinavian Spa-themed, and Speakeasy-themed luxury rooms.

Fourteen artists were commissioned to create art for the hotels, which now display culturally significant pieces such as quilt squares, blankets and jingle art.

“The sacrifice of time it took the artists to create the beautiful pieces throughout both properties gives a deeper meaning to this project,” shared Joe Nayquonabe, chief executive officer of MLCV. “Our commitment went beyond mere aesthetics; we wanted to authentically portray the Anishinaabe people through every detail of these spaces,”
