Dustin Johnson has confessed that he harbors no ill feelings towards the PGA Tour despite his decision to switch to LIV Golf.

Johnson , 40, was one of the most prominent figures to move to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund-backed rebel tour in 2022. He reluctantly accepted at the time that his choice to sign the alleged £100million deal to join the rebels would exclude him from participating in the Ryder Cup.

However, this year, a huge 'draft agreement' worth more than $1 billion was reportedly signed to merge the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, and LIV. He will be one of the major players competing at The Open Championship, which kicks off on July 18.

Despite the tug-of-war between the LIV rebels and the PGA competitors, Johnson revealed his true feelings by stating that he holds no grudge against the PGA Tour.

In a conversation with Haute Time, Johnson expressed: "It's been cool to do something different. I was on the Tour for 15 years, and I love everything it did for me - I always have and still do.

"But it is also pretty cool to start something completely new and it's more of a global tour, where you play in places around the world. I am definitely travelling more with LIV Golf. I think that will continue to be bigger within the next few years - we aren't even two years in yet."

Ahead of U.S. Open a few weeks ago, Johnson declared his continued passion for winning majors, even with his new LIV Golf association. He said: "I still want to compete at a very high level. I am not getting any younger, I have to work harder than I did before to keep myself in good shape, but I still feel great.

"Actually, my game is very close to being back to where it was when I was competing and having the chance to win every week. I feel like I have a lot of really good golf left in me. Major championships are still very important to me."

These statements echo his sentiments expressed during his departure from the PGA Tour. Johnson had stated that joining LIV Golf was majorly for financial reasons, benefiting his family and allowing more family time.

Upon his exit from the PGA, he declared: "I thought it was best for me and my family. I resign my membership of the PGA Tour.

"What the consequences are going to be I can't comment on how the Tour's going to handle it. I can't answer for the majors but hopefully they're going to allow us to play. Obviously I'm exempt for the majors so I plan on playing there unless I hear otherwise."
