CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. – A deputy with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office is being credited with over 100 DWI arrests in 2023. The large number earned Deputy David Creamer recognition from originations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

“I’m very passionate about taking impaired drivers off the roadway. They are some of the most dangerous people out there,” Deputy Creamer tells KOLR10.

In 2023 Creamer was on the Camden County Sheriff’s Office DWI Traffic Unit.

“I didn’t respond to any normal calls. It was more or less just priority calls,” says Creamer. “I solely looked for impaired drivers on the roadway.”

In total, Deputy Creamer made 104 DWI arrests, but the dedication to getting impaired drivers off the road was not a solo act.

“I can think of myself and two other highway patrol troopers that work in this troop F area, and they had over 100 also,” said Creamer.

Creamer says a different deputy is on the DWI Traffic Unit this year. He believes that the deputy will have similar success.

“He’s doing a very good job at it right now,” Creamer said. “I can just foresee the future that he’s going to be up there close to 100, if not more.”
