ILEARN results show little change from past year

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – ILEARN (Indiana Learning Evaluation and Assessment Readiness Network) test results are in for the 2023-2024 school year, and said results indicate not much change from the previous school year.

ILEARN is a summative accountability assessment for Indiana students in grades three through eight and high school biology. It measures student achievement and growth according to Indiana Academic Standards.

According to data released, 41% of Indiana students are proficient in ELA. That is a .3% increase from the past year. The same results showed that 40.7% of Indiana students are proficient in math. That is a .2% decrease from the past year.

However, this is still down from pre coronavirus times.

Also, across the state, grades three through eight list as follows when it comes to proficiency.

ELA

• Grade 3 – 38.6%
• Grade 4 – 41.8%
• Grade 5 – 40.3%
• Grade 6 – 41.1%
• Grade 7 – 41.8%
• Grade 8 – 42.6%
• Overall – 41%

Math:

• Grade 3 – 52.7%
• Grade 4 – 48%
• Grade 5 – 40.8%
• Grade 6 – 38.1%
• Grade 7 – 33.9%
• Grade 8 – 31.4%
• Overall – 40.7%

ELA & Math:

• Grade 3 – 34.5%
• Grade 4 – 34.9%
