    • Suspect arrested in shooting at Cedar Creek Marina in Wilson County that killed Kansas man.

A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with what police believe was a robbery turned deadly at a Wilson County marina late last month.

Adrian A. McLean, 40, is facing one count of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated robbery in connection with the case, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. McLean was apprehended Wednesday morning in Nashville.

The 27-year-old victim in the case, now identified as Bailey Gardner, of Kansas, was fatally shot during the early morning hours of June 29 outside Cedar Creek Marina, at 9120 Saundersville Road.

Gardner was described by police as an “innocent bystander.”

Investigators believe Gardner was shot after an armed robbery.

Mt. Juliet police responded to a robbery report at the restaurant at Cedar Creek Marina just before the shooting was reported, according to the department.

Three armed suspects ambushed staff in the restaurant, and two staff members were assaulted and forced to open a cash safe, according to police.

Gardner was found in his vehicle.

Responding officers tried to treat Gardner until medics arrived, but he died from his injuries, police said.

The restaurant is in Mt. Juliet's city limits, but the parking lot, where Gardner was found, is in Wilson County's jurisdiction, according to police.

Investigators say they are still working to arrest the two other suspects they believe are involved in the case.
