    Here is the fire news report for the week of July 13 through July 14:

    Saturday 07/13

    Wallace VFD responded to Rockfish Plaza at Calvary Church Daycare Center for a commercial fire alarm activation. While responding Wallace Engine 5 was advised that Wallace Firefighter 2520 was on the scene advising false alarm activation, Wallace Engine 5 proceeded on non-emergency traffic. Wallace Engine 5 arrived and confirmed false alarm activation, they cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Kenansville VFD, Sarecta VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Sumnerlins Crossroad Road near Best Road for a MVC, single vehicle in the woods, with entrapment. Duplin County Fire Marshal FM 1 arrived and found a single vehicle into a tree with major damage, requesting an air medical helicopter to respond to the hospital landing zone if available. FM 1 assuming Kenansville command requesting Kenansville Engine 1 on arrival to pull an attack line, and deploy a cutter, spreader and chain saw to vehicle. No air medical helicopter available due to weather, the patient was extracted within 10 minutes and the patient was transported by ground to a trauma center. The roadway was closed during the extraction process, once released by NCSHP all Kenansville and Sarecta units cleared the call and returned to their stations.

    North East VFD responded to Paddlewheel Drive in River Landing Gated Community for a commercial fire alarm activation. North East Car 1 and Engine 1 arrived and found a false alarm activation, River Landing staff had the alarm reset before fire department arrival, all North East units cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Magnolia VFD, Duplin County EMS, and Magnolia Police Department responded to the intersection of Monk Street (US 117 Highway) at Main Street (NC 903 Highway) for a MVC, two vehicles unknown injuries. Magnolia Squad 1 arrived and assisted with traffic control, once released by MPD all Magnolia units cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Teachey VFD First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Teachey MR 16 arrived and started patient care, once Duplin County EMS Medic 2 arrived and patient care was transferred, once the patient was loaded and transported all Teachey units cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Greenevers VFD, North Carolina Forestry Service, and Duplin County EMS responded to Clinic Circle Drive for a woods fire. Greenevers Engine 1 arrived and advised the fire appears to be off of S. NC 11 Highway behind New Christian Chapel Baptist Church. Greenevers Engine 1, and Engine 2 stood by at the church with Greenevers Brush and Forestry 3 accessed a path to reach the fire. The fire was found to be a controlled burn, all Greenevers units cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Sunday 07/14

    Magnolia VFD responded to S. NC 903 Highway just past Halls Pond Road for a service call, trees in the roadway. Magnolia Squad 1 arrived and began moving the trees from the roadway. Once the trees were removed and the roadway cleared all Magnolia units cleared the call and returned to their station.

    Greenevers VFD, Rose Hill VFD, Duplin County EMS and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to S. NC 11 Highway at W. Charity Road for a MVC, three vehicles unknown injures. Greenevers Engine 1, Rescue 14, Rose Hill Engine 2 and Rescue 6 arrived and checked on injuries and started traffic control. All Rose Hill units were released and returned to their station. Once released by NCSHP and all Greenevers units cleared the call and returned to their station.
