In a social media post Wednesday night, Joe Jonas announced that his sophomore solo album will be released on October 18. Titled Music for People Who Believe in Love , the album will mark Joe’s first original work since the Jonas Brothers ’ 2023 The Album and his first solo work since his 2011 album Fastlife .

And the timing makes sense. Joe’s life has undoubtedly changed since his divorce from actress Sophie Turner was announced in September 2023. The ex-couple was married for four years and share two daughters together, though things seemed to turn contentious with a lawsuit and custody battle. The two have reached an amicable agreement since then on both their divorce and children, and now that things are looking up, Joe appears focused on only the positive in both his music career and his personal life.

“This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me,” he wrote in his social media statements. “When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment. It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves.”

Joe has long been outspoken about his mental health and therapy work he often goes through. Thus, by focusing on gratitude, it appears the album is a sort of continuation of that work. The musician even acknowledged the album’s healing nature when telling TMZ paparazzi that, “Therapy’s great, this album is very therapeutic.”

His announcement continued, “This album speaks to the experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I’ve found in doing what I love for a living… This album is a reflection and celebration of life. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it.”

The first single, “Work It Out,” is sure to set a positive tone. From what fans have reported of live performances, some of the lyrics may include the line “Brush your shoulders off, life's gonna work it out” and the Instagram-ready phrase “Even baddies get saddies.” Relatable and catchy, sign us up!
