Sometimes even Amazon can be too expensive. While sometimes we can find excellent deals online, it's not uncommon to feel discouraged that even the "low" prices are too much for our budgets. But that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice our luxury aesthetic!
This woman had been eyeing a gorgeous autumn candle on Amazon for weeks but the price was simply not doable. After looking at it for a while, however, she realized that she might just be able to make the item herself! She took a trip to Dollar Tree and, no surprise here, it had everything she needed to replicate the candle. Here's how she did it!
If there's anyone who can make replicating a high-end product look easy, it's Micah from @makeitwithmicah on TikTok. This girl has over 1.5 million followers and nearly 25 million likes on her page. Clearly the internet is obsessed with her content! Besides DIY videos, Micah also posts organizational and cleaning content, which, I don't know about you, are some of the most satisfying kinds of content to watch.
This time around, Micah decided to dive right into a home decor DIY and try to recreate a stunning Amazon candle from scratch. Here's what she needed to get started!
4 Essential Supplies to Make Your Own Statement Candle
This is so much cheaper than buying the candle brand new!
1. Candles
Since ordering wax online can be a tedious and expensive process, Micah just grabbed a handful of basic candles from DT to eventually melt down on her own.
2. Pumpkin jar
For the base, Micah grabbed a cheap glass pumpkin container. You ca find one for only $7.31 at Walmart !
3. Candle wicks
The most important part! Snag a pack of wicks from Walmart for only $1.49 .
4. Wooden skewers
In order to ensure that your wicks stay upright to dry in the correct position, wooden skewers paired with rubber bands are the perfect solution. Simply place a skewer on either side of the wicks and seal the ends together with the bands. Remove when wax is dry!
All Micah had to do was apply her wicks to the bottom of the glass, melt the wax, pour it into the pumpkin glass, and wait for it to dry.
Pro-tip: add some drops of essential oils for a delicious scent!
