While temperatures have stayed persistently hot here in the Big Country, we are expecting a brief cool-down. As we go into the start of next week, we will see weather patterns trending and hinting towards the upper 80s for both Monday and Tuesday. In addition, there is a strong chance to see showers and precipitation across the Big Country as early as Sunday, staying for both Monday and Tuesday as well.

With these weather conditions expected, fish activity should be high, too. Cooler water temperatures increase the oxygen levels in the water, making fish more aggressive and active during their feeding. In addition, fish tend to be more active in overcast skies than in clear skies. Lastly, light rain is a perk during fishing because it is also known to wash insects and other food sources into the water.

    • Lake Brownwood – 85.5% Full
    • Lake Fort Phantom Hill – 65.9% Full
