HANCOCK COUNTY — FEMA and the Small Business Association have set up a new Disaster Recovery Center in Hancock County to aid people in the area affected by the latest storm damage.

Both organizations get people the resources they need to replace personal property, seek emergency home repairs, and apply for financial assistance.

Whether it’s questions about small interest loans or online applications, the people at the Disaster Recovery Center are here to help.

“It includes mudslides, rainfall, damaging winds, tornados, flooding, severe storms, you name it. Everything is done on a case-by-case basis, no two applicants are exactly the same.”

    Nate Custer, FEMA spokesperson

The recovery center is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm.

The deadline for aid from the first disaster is July 22 and the deadline for the second disaster is September 3rd.
