Caitlin Clark entered the Olympic break with a bang after picking up the WNBA record for most assists in a single game with 19. Unfortunately for Clark and the Indiana Fever, they could not pick up the win against the Dallas Wings, losing by a final score of 101-93, partially taking away from Clark's historic night.

On Thursday afternoon, despite Clark having arguably her best week as a pro, the WNBA chose New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Over her last four games, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star averaged 22.5 points, 12.75 assists, and five rebounds, leading the Fever to a 2-2 record.

Ionescu, on the other hand, also had a solid week, averaging 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists, leading the Liberty to a 4-0 record.

Both players were deserving of the award, but many fans thought the award should have gone to Clark. They took to social media to blast the WNBA for their decision.

Clark and Ionescu both recently turned down the WNBA's invitation to participate in the upcoming three-point contest. But fans will still get to see them go head-to-head again on Saturday in the WNBA All-Star game.
