WNBA fans are not too happy with Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu's decision to not participate in the WNBA 3-Point Contest.

Ionescu won the 3-Point Contest last year after scoring a record 37 points (hitting 25 of 27 shots) in the final round. Meanwhile, Clark has been largely known for her long-range shooting, and it has been her main weapon as she attempts 8.3 triples per game this 2024 season.

With that said, both players were expected to participate at the 3-Point Contest in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Weekend. But when the league announced the contestants, their names were nowhere to be found.

According to a report, the Indiana Fever sharpshooter and New York Liberty star were invited but declined to participate, which disappointed plenty of fans.

"Cancel it, nobody is gonna wanna watch this," a commenter said. Another one agreed, "Just cancel the contest altogether or give them their own 1 v 1 contest. These are the only 2 who make it worth watching."

"Well, looks like nobody is watching the WNBA All-Star weekend anymore," a social media user added.

"Missed opportunity here," a follower chimed in.

Another disappointed fan said, "Such A Shame. Would be huge for the WNBA."

"They robbed us of a generational shoot off man," a frustrated supporter furthered.

It would have been really epic to see Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu battle it out in the 3-Point Contest. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait and see if it will ever happen in the future.

For now, though, the whole WNBA will have to settle for their upcoming showdown in the All-Star Game. Clark is part of the Team WNBA, which will take on Ionescu and Team USA.
