ESPN On The Verge Of Revealing Big-Time WNBA News

As we enter the WNBA All-Star weekend and the 2024 Paris Olympic break, attention for women's basketball is at an all-time high. Despite what some people think, WNBA rookies Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky have a lot to do with this.

Clark and Reese brought the national spotlight to women's basketball during their college days with the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers, respectively. Viewership ratings have skyrocketed, and merchandise sales are through the roof.

The spotlight on the WNBA is so high that ESPN is on the verge of revealing big-time news for women's basketball.

According to USA Today's Meghan L. Hall, ESPN is coming close to creating a new daily sports show revolving solely around women's basketball, including the WNBA.

Sara Gaiero, the vice president of production at ESPN, teased the possibility of a new show being added to the network's lineup in the near future.

"I think we are very close. It's become very difficult to turn your eyes and say, 'We can't find space for that,'" Gaiero commented.

ESPN has a ton of daily shows for other leagues, including NBA Today and NFL Live. With the new spotlight the WNBA has received, this potential new addition could be huge.
