    Caltrans warns of delays on I-80 and Highway 50 in Yolo County due to construction

    (FOX40.COM) — Construction work in Yolo County is expected to cause delays for drivers on Interstate 80 and Highway 50 beginning Friday, according to Caltrans.

    The work is part of the $280 million Yolo Interstate 80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project that seeks to repair the roadway surface on I-80 and Highway 50 in Yolo County. The section of the project that is being implemented this weekend is a new traffic shift.

    Closures are expected to begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 19, and last until Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m.

    Here is where the closures are scheduled for:

    • Eastbound lanes on I-80 and eastbound U.S. Highway 50 at Harbor Boulevard to Jefferson Boulevard will be reduced to one or two lanes for K-rail (concrete barrier) removal, replacement, and lane striping.
    • Enterprise, Harbor, and Jefferson Boulevards on- and offramps to eastbound and westbound U.S. Hwy 50 and I-80.

    “The work zone is from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 50,” Caltrans said. “The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of workers and drivers.”

    Caltrans added that the Yolo Fruit Stand, located at 46710 County Road 32b; East of Davis, will remain open 8:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. Monday-Sunday during construction.
