Liverpool has not made a move in the transfer market yet. Along with Fulham, it is the only Premier League club to be inactive in the market so far this summer.

There is still plenty of time to get deals done, however. Behind the scenes, new sporting director Richard Hughes will be busy working hard on various options and he has already spoken about wanting to be "opportunistic" in the market.

As well as transfers, of course, new deals for Mohamed Salah , Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be vital. The links with the Scouser and Real Madrid need to be stamped out as soon as possible.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. Leny Yoro might be going to Manchester United but that only means the Reds have even more work to do .

    Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)

Xabi Alonso had a number of standout performers last season as his Bayer Leverkusen side won the Bundesliga and remained unbeaten through the league campaign. Wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, along with the likes of Florian Wirtz , was certainly one of those but even so, the 23-year-old could move on this summer and is available for the reasonable sum of around $38m (£29m/€35m).

The German outlet BILD reports that Frimpong would be keen to join either Liverpool, Real Madrid or Manchester City. So far, however, none of those clubs have moved forward with a concrete offer for him.

Liverpool.com says: The only way that Liverpool would need to be in the market for a full-back is either if Alexander-Arnold isn't going to sign a new contract or he is going to be a full-time midfielder. Neither of those things should be on the agenda.

    Dani Olmo (RB Leipzig)

Liverpool will have to move quickly if it wants to trigger Dani Olmo's release clause, though the chances of that particular rumor being true have always been slim. The RB Leipzig star's $65m (£52m/€60m) clause was extended by five days due to his involvement in the Euro 2024 final; it is now set to expire on Saturday.

According to BILD , Atletico Madrid has now entered the race for the attacking midfielder as it looks to bring Olmo back to Spain. Barcelona and Manchester City have also been linked with moves for the player.

Liverpool.com says: Olmo had a really good international tournament but in the Bundesliga, he has been inconsistent. He also plays in midfield, where Liverpool is already pretty well-stocked.
