Manchester United is closing in on another big summer signing after reportedly agreeing personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Manuel Ugarte.

The 23-year-old looks likely to cut ties with the French League 1 champions only a year after putting pen to paper on his deal from Sporting CP.

Erik ten Hag has been quite busy of late, welcoming fresh faces Josh Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro, with the latter arriving in a big money move from Lille. Rumours suggest Ineos might augment their ranks further by securing Ugarte's signature.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, negotiations have taken place with Ugarte, who is represented by the same agent as Yoro in Jorge Mendes. That could potentially boost United's chances of securing a deal.

The report sheds light on the ongoing discussions between Man United and PSG representatives, stating that other clubs haven't shied away from making enquiries.

In late June, French publication L'Equipe reported that PSG manager Luis Enrique was ready to let Ugarte go amid interest from United. The English club's initial offer was reportedly turned down by the French heavyweights for being too low.

Although Romano didn't reveal the names of the interested clubs, L'Equipe identified the countries, stating that two Italian clubs showed interest, along with teams from England and Germany.

Liverpool.com says: United is making some big early moves this summer as it tries to get its place back in the top four. Last season was a disappointing one but the arrival of Ineos has seen money be spent on young exciting talent. Ugarte would be just that and add some much needed steel and legs to the United midfield.
