Triple digits expected next week in Bay Area as NWS issues heat advisory

( KRON ) — After a brief cooldown followed the heat wave to start the month , hot temperatures are making their way back to the Bay Area.

The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory in the Bay Area for the next two days, the agency announced Thursday in a post on X . The advisory, which warns residents of temperatures expected to be in the 90s to low 100s, was issued for Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday.

The majority of Bay Area cities affected are located inland (see map below). The NWS said that includes the North Bay Interior Mountains, East Bay Interior Valley, Santa Clara Valley and parts of San Jose.

These next two days should be a precursor to even hotter temperatures next week. However, there will be a slight cool-down this Saturday and Sunday.

According to KRON4 Meteorologist Kyla Grogan, inland temperatures could reach the 100s on Friday but will cool back down in the mid-80s on the weekend (Watch her full forecast in the video player above).

To begin the work week next week, inland temperatures should hover around 100 degrees. As usual, residents close to the Bay and coast shouldn’t worry about the heat — temperatures are forecasted to be 10 to 20 degrees cooler.
