The so-called modern-day Nostradamus has sent shivers down spines with his eerie prediction of "three days of darkness" in 2024, as fears of cyber warfare escalate .

With the recent global Microsoft outage causing widespread disruption , some are left pondering if the Brazilian psychic Athos Salome's forecast is unfolding before our eyes .

The clairvoyant, also a trained parapsychologist, has an uncanny record, having predicted the coronavirus pandemic, Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition , the passing of Queen Elizabeth, and even the outcome of the Euro football tournament.

In a chat with MailOnline earlier in the year, the 36-year-old warned that new warfare technology like Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) could wreak havoc globally. He suggested that the blackout he foresees for 2024 might be linked to EMP tests and rising tensions among nations at odds, potentially triggering a conflict on the scale of a Third World War.

The tech meltdown, which struck last night, has hit media outlets, airlines, financial institutions, healthcare services, and retail giants. While some fear it heralds the onset of World War 3, others point fingers at Russia or extraterrestrial interference.

EMP technology, capable of knocking out electronic systems while sparing people and structures, is a formidable weapon that could bring about such a blackout.

The Mail reports that EMP, typically triggered by explosions at high altitudes, interacts with the Earth's magnetic fields to create pulses that can disrupt and damage electronic equipment and infrastructures.

During the Cold War, both the USA and the Soviet Union saw EMP as a tool for disabling enemy infrastructure without causing direct harm.

Salome stated: "AI again emerges as a factor possibly serving as both a peacekeeping tool and an instigator of fresh confrontations."

"Advanced nations, including the United States have been quietly advancing EMP technologies for security purposes."

"The US has been exploring EMP capabilities since Operation Prime tests in the 1960s aiming to use this technology to neutralize threats with minimal physical damage. Similarly Russia and China are investing in EMP technologies as tools to disrupt infrastructures of potential foes."

"Even North Korea despite its limitations is showing interest, in EMP technology as part of their preemptive strike tactics."

"This shift in adoption signifies a growing trend where EMP is not merely viewed as a weapon. As an essential element of upcoming military endeavours having the potential to disrupt critical systems significantly and swiftly."

Meanwhile, Microsoft 365 say they are investigating an issue impacting users' ability to access apps and services.

"Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions," they said on X this morning.

"We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue."
