An issue with some Kansas courts electronic systems and devices may temporarily impact the public's ability to access them, Shawnee County District Court administrator Lea Welch said Friday morning.

The problem is not the result of a cybersecurity attack, Welch told The Capital-Journal.

"The issue appears to have been caused by an update to the Crowdstrike Falcon antivirus software and is affecting systems across the world," she said.

The information services team for the state's Office of Judicial Administration was working to resolve the problem, Welch said.

"Please be patient as we work through these issues," she said. "We will provide further information as soon as possible."

Shawnee County District Court remained open for business, though issues with electronic systems and devices may affect some phones lines into and out of the courthouse, Welch said.
