Due to ongoing technology issues, the Texas Department of Public Safety has closed all of its Driver License Offices across the state as of Friday.

According to a news release from the DPS, the technical issue is related to the global CrowdStrike incident, which forced DPS to cancel all scheduled driver's license appointments on Friday.

Crowdstrike has confirmed that this is not a security incident or cyberattack but is related to a defect in a content update for Windows hosts.

DPS stated that it has contacted all those impacted by the outage, and its IT teams are working on fixing the issue. There is no current estimate on when DLOs will be able to reopen.

The public is asked to monitor DPS's social media and website to stay up to date on closures.
