Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. concluded in an Instagram post Thursday that 'justice was served' in his lawsuit against Nike. But most would probably agree that's not an accurate description of what happened.

The New York Post's Michael Blinn reported Friday that a Multnomah County (Oregon) Circuit Court jury didn't award Beckham Jr. any money in damages for his lawsuit against Nike. Beckham Jr. sued the sports apparel company for $20 million in 2022.

In the lawsuit, Beckham Jr. alleged Nike breached his contract. The company then countersued Beckham Jr. The jury didn't award Nike any damages Thursday.

In conclusion, neither side was in breach of contract.

Social media users made fun of Beckham on X (formerly Twitter) for declaring victory in a lawsuit where he received no monetary damages.

"How this case started & ended," wrote KBEZ23 to a caption of a short clip of Abe Simpson from The Simpsons quickly walking in and out of a restaurant.

Daniel Bishop P. was dumbfounded as to why Beckham Jr. could consider the lawsuit a victory if he won no money.

Shawn Cochran referred to Beckham Jr.'s claimed lawsuit victory as "bizarre."

"The $20 million was dismissed," wrote Maine. "It was a stalemate."

Several X users also referred to the lawyer fees Beckham Jr. likely paid in the lawsuit. Charles Leclerc Stan Account argued the lawyers were the real winners of the case.

Portland Business Journal's Demi Lawrence reported both Beckham Jr.'s and Nike's claims are now on appeal.
