Singer-songwriter Rory Feek, who sang in the duo Joey + Rory with his wife, has married again eight years after Joey passed away from cancer in 2016. Rory wrote a special song for his new wife, Rebecca, and shared it along with a sweet video from the wedding.

He shared the story of the new song with a blog post on his website. According to Rory, he didn’t tell anyone he would be singing a special song at his own wedding, so everyone was surprised. He shared the song and video in the post, writing, “It is the moment when a beautiful past meets an even more beautiful present. And together we begin walking into a future filled with more faith, more hope, and even more love.”

In February 2024, Rory shared in another blog post that he had found love again. Rebecca was a schoolteacher who taught Rory’s daughter, Indy, at a school on their Tennessee property. The post, titled “Love Comes Softly,” chronicled a memory Rory had of his late wife and revealed that he had met someone new.

He wrote about the book and TV movie Love Comes Softly, explaining, “It’s a pioneer-days story about how in the prime of a couple’s life together, tragedy strikes, and one is left alone, grieving the other. And how in spite of what they think they want or need, love finds its way back into their life. Not in the way they experienced it before, but back into their life just the same, and they are so thankful.”

Rory compared this to his own story, sharing that he had watched the movie again with his daughter and noticed that it strangely reflected his own life. “Although I can honestly tell you that after losing Joey I wasn’t sure it was even possible (actually I was fairly sure it wasn’t),” he wrote, “love has shown up in my life again. Although in a quieter and gentler way than I knew before, it has come just the same.”

According to Rory Feek, he knew Rebecca for the last five years while she was a teacher to his daughter and other kids on his farm property. “And though we’ve known each other for a long while, and I’ve always thought highly of her, I never really knew her,” he wrote.

Rory also wrote about the different way that Rebecca came into his life in comparison to Joey. “And little by little, the more time Indy and I have spent with Rebecca, the more she has come to mean to us,” he wrote. “Though it has arrived differently than I might have imagined, if I could have even imagined it at all, love has come into my life again,” adding, “Not like a lightning bolt, or a clear voice from God, the way Joey seemed to come into my life. This has been more like a gentle breeze that has blown in… a whisper that can only be heard when a heart is to ready hear it.”
