FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The ongoing technology disruptions that have been impacting airlines, hospitals, and small businesses on a global scale have also been felt in Fresno County.

In an update sent shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, Fresno County officials confirm that they have been impacted, initially putting 400 of Fresno County’s servers out of action – but all are operating as normal again. Additionally, at least 3,500 computers were impacted – requiring each to be manually rebooted in what was described as “a time-consuming process.”

In a further update at 5 p.m., Fresno County officials said that over 70% of the county’s computers have been manually rebooted – with over 700 still requiring the update and manual reboot to make them operational again.

Officials add that work will continue through the weekend to get the remaining systems operational.

Fresno County staff are prioritizing fixing systems in emergency services, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and jails, the Juvenile Justice Center, the Hall of Records, and Child Welfare Services, to ensure those systems are operational. However, due to the time needed to bring back all Fresno County systems, officials say some departments may not be able to respond quickly.

Fresno County officials add that no information about employees or residents has been released due to this incident.
