    Non-verbal, deaf man reported missing in Chesterfield, last seen almost two weeks ago

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield County man who police say is non-verbal and deaf was reported missing by caregivers on Thursday after he went missing almost two weeks ago.

    According to a July 19 press release from the Chesterfield County Police Department, 39-year-old Jamar D. Porter was reported missing by caregivers on Thursday, July 18.

    Porter was last seen on Saturday, July 6, outside of his home in the 11600 block of Olde Coach Drive.

    Porter, who is pictured below, is described as a Black man with brown eyes and black hair. According to police, he is about 5’7″ and weighs about 197 pounds.

    According to police, Porter is non-verbal and deaf. He is also without medications that are used to treat his mental health and medical conditions. Police advise that, if you find and attempt to speak with Porter, he will only be able to communicate with written text.

    Porter is known to frequent areas in Richmond, according to police.
