Lewis the Viral Pumpkin Returns to Target and He’s Got Equally Lovable Friends in Tow
By Cassandra Yorgey,
His name is Lewis, and the eight-foot-tall pumpkin ghoul has returned to Target this year due to the viral success the large decoration saw last year. It's the first time the retail chain has ever brought back a major Halloween character, and for his encore appearance, Lewis is bringing several friends along who might be even more fun.
Halloween enthusiasts will want to grab one before they sell out — a very real danger. Last year's debut of Lewis sold out of stores within the first week, so even though it's July, you might want to grab these hot new Halloween decorations to save money before they're gone.
And don't forget to check out the new additions to Lewis the Pumpkin Ghoul's family.
If your yard doesn't have an eight-foot-tall pumpkin-headed ghoul, are you even Halloween-ing? Lewis lights up and talks, adding to the spooky fun of the season. This is the first reprisal Target has ever done of a major Halloween character, usually bringing a new one annually, but they couldn't resist the jeers of all the fans from last year who couldn't get one.
Do you want a nearly six-foot-tall skeleton with a pumpkin head rocking out on your lawn? Obviously. Billy is sporting some purple pinstriped pants and an electric green guitar because he's a rock star — a rock star who might outshine Lewis this Halloween.
3. Bruce the Skeleton Ghoul
Price: $180
Bruce is an eight-foot green-glowing skeleton ghoul with snappy rhymes in a low bass. He's dressed in all-black grim reaper robes to add to the spooky display. The eyes, ribcage, and hands light up green to complete the Halloween vibes.
If eight feet of Halloween decoration feels a little pricey, you might be interested in Little Lewis, which packs nearly five and a half feet of Lewis at an itty-bitty price. That works out to about $5.50 per foot! This decoration requires hanging rather than the stand-alone sturdiness of the larger version, but it's hard to beat that price.
5. Pumpkin Iron Lewcy
Price: $20
Lewcy might be small, at only just over three feet, but she's pumping iron, and something tells us she's the one keeping the others in line this Halloween. Clad in magenta with purple dumbbells, this pumpkin-headed lady plays '80s workout music and inspirational workout phrases to give you a chuckle.
Bottom line
Lewis may have captured hearts last Halloween, but it might just be Billy and Lewcy taking center stage this year. They have slightly lower price points than their counterparts, with more colorful fun that incorporates classic 80s styles into their aesthetic.
Classic Lewis will surely be a hit again, but the new additions might be even better, so you'll want to pick them up before they sell out — there is no guarantee they'll be back next year.
If you're planning to go all-out on Lewis and friends decorations, it might be worth looking into which credit cards offer the best cash back programs to help offset the price of spooky holiday fun.
