WWE SmackDown Preview (07/19/24): Cody Rhodes has words, Logan Paul to respond to LA Knight contract

    2024-07-19

What manner of payback awaits Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and the remainder of the new-look Bloodline on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown is anyone’s guess, but it’s a safe bet that Cody Rhodes won’t take the beating lying down. The WWE Champion is expected to not only speak from Omaha on July 19, but he’s not intent on waiting, so he’ll open the show.

There has been no word on the status of Randy Orton following the assault, the WWE maintaining radio silence on the health of “The Viper”, but it’s possible Rhodes could be on an island — especially if Kevin Owens hasn’t made it back yet following the latest update on the health of his mother.

That is, of course, unless someone else unexpectedly steps in to help Rhodes and, yes, this sentence is a bit of foreshadowing for you to carry into the show tonight.

    And where is Jimmy Uso?

    Date : Friday, July 19
    Time : 8 pm ET
    Location : Omaha, NE
    Broadcast : FOX

We’ll also get an answer from Logan Paul to what LA Knight has been able to finesse in his pursuit of the WWE United States Championship, namely a contract signed by general manager Nick Aldis that guarantees Knight a match at Summerslam against Paul, but Paul has to put his John Hancock on the paperwork to make it official.

Knight promises to hunt him down if he doesn’t “show up to work” on Friday, and it appears Paul wants to avoid another home visit from The Megastar, so he’ll address it in-person.

Andrade will also be in action as he tries to teach Carmelo Hayes a lesson, but the rookie first-overall pick is in desperate need of proving he belongs on the main roster with something that will make him truly pop, and while it’s unknown if a feud with Andrade will achieve that mission — it’s a start.

Tune in to see if this week’s Smackdown can one-up all of the wild behavior from RAW.
