    Local school librarian nominated as finalist for 2025 West Virginia Service Personnel of the Year

    MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) — A Marshall County School employee is gaining state-wide recognition for her exceptional role in serving two elementary schools.

    Nicole McCulley is among five finalists for the 2025 West Virginia Service Personnel of the Year.

    She serves as Center McMechen and Glen Dale Elementary School’s librarian.

    Her peers recognized McCulley’s dedication to students through fundraising efforts and monthly service projects.

    These projects, designed to instill in students the value of community support and impact, have made a significant difference in our community.

    It’s a huge honor when your peers select you to represent your school is amazing. I appreciate it. I do this job without recognition. I do it for all of the kids every day. So that I got recognized for it and can represent Marshall County School down in Charleston is a big honor.”

    McCulley says libraries play a vital role in education by inspiring young minds and encouraging imaginations.
