We've grown to love watching people tenderly and carefully restore old homes to their former glory in the recent years. It's a stark difference from a time when everyone was in a rush to take what was old and make it new, so it's nice to see so many novice and professional DIYers return to their restoration roots while trying to honor some of the styles of yesterday.

Occasionally, someone will get rewarded for their efforts by way of an amazing original find, like this one couple did. Not only did they discover the original siding of the 1930s home they are working to restore, but it seems like most of the woodwork is still in good enough shape that they'll be able to salvage it!

Take a look at their progress below.

This was totally unexpected. We knew there was some kind of tongue and groove boards behind the 2nd layer of siding but didn’t realize it was in such incredible shape. Looks like this was a true little white farmhouse back in the day! #farmhouse #farmhousedecor #littlehouseontheprairie #farmhouserenovation #farmhouselife #diy #diyhomeimprovement #littlewhitefarmhouse #shiplap #cottagestyle

We're loving everything that @huntfamilyhomestead is doing with their new farmhouse, especially after seeing their joy over the discovery of the white woodwork under decades of different types of siding.

It sounds like this was an especially poignant moment for the couple, because up until then they were having a hard time deciding on what color they were going to go with for the home's exterior. Now that they know that the farmhouse was originally all white, it sounds like they intend to honor its roots and once again let it shine with the clean and crisp color.

We love a good farmhouse look, especially when it's done right! But farmhouse chic doesn't just apply to old home restorations. Sometimes people can bring that aesthetic to life with smaller pieces and updates as well.

    Woman Restores Farmhouse Buffet

If you love watching furniture flips, you're going to want to take a look at what this woman did with an old, tattered, and heavily worn farmhouse style buffet.

While we would've never believed that anyone could've turned this once-beautiful piece around, this seasoned pro proved us wrong by totally transforming the dining room staple before our very eyes.

Now it looks like something you'd spend a few grand on if you went shopping for one new, which unfortunately, you'd never be able to do because they just don't make them like this anymore, Bravo!

Couple's Farmhouse Discovery Proves There's Still a Lot of Old World Charm Left

Say what you will about a certain house flipping couple who tends to lean a little too hard on the modern farmhouse style, we think that the OP and her husband are doing a great job restoring this house and brining it back to its former glory.

Hopefully they keep documenting the process for the rest of us so we can see how it finally ends up. Who knows, maybe they'll end up with their own HGTV series!
