Who is Morgan Riddle?
After growing up in Minnesota, Morgan moved to New York for college. She met Taylor on the exclusive dating app Raya, something she now calls mortifying.
She had just moved to Los Angeles during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and went on the app to make friends as she didn't know anyone in the area. "We went to his place and I made him watch Midsommar with me, the really messed up horror movie. Why I chose that as my first introduction to a guy, I don't really know. I think I traumatized him a little bit," she said in an interview.
The two have been dating since June 2020. Morgan travels with Taylor around the world for his tennis matches and lavish vacations. They've been dubbed the Posh and Becks of tennis as well as Barbie and Ken, due to Morgan's blonde locks.
How did Morgan get famous?
She's best known for her vlogs and "day in the life" content on her YouTube account and TikTok page. She has sponsors like Chipotle and boasts over 17.7 million likes on TikTok.
Taylor and Morgan appeared in the Netflix series Break Point, which featured tennis professionals as they competed in Grand Slam tournaments. In one of her most viral videos, she proclaims that with her fame, she wants to make "tennis cool again."
"I know tennis is relatively uncool and unknown in America," she added. Morgan got backlash for her comments, but Taylor defended her during a 2022 press conference.
"I think what she did was awesome for our sport. It got a ton of people looking at it. I think you get your typical older fan who may be upset about it. I don't understand how anyone can get upset about it," he said, "I'm the one that's a professional tennis player, I'm the one that does this for a living. I 100 percent agree with everything in that video."
Why was she talked about at Wimbleton?
While attending Wimbleton, Morgan made headlines as she was seen reportedly laughing in triumph when Taylor beat Alexander Zverev, a German tennis player who has been accused of domestic violence more than once.
Morgan posted a series of Instagram Stories praising Taylor, saying he was "for the girls," which many people thought was a dig at Alexander. After the news reported this, she denied the posts had anything to do with the German and deleted them off her accounts.
She wrote on social media that "they were not about anything that’s happened off the tennis court & there’s no bad blood between anyone."
