PITTSBURG, Kan, -- Special Olympics Kansas visits Pittsburg for the second consecutive year. The event consists of athletes from all over the state of Kansas participating in the competition.

"Honestly one of those niche sports that we have that some of our athletes just absolutely love to focus on," said organizer Olivia Ryan, "and it's really grown. We've grown from about 15, about 15 from last year. so, it's been really cool to see the growth and the interest in powerlifting."

The competitions continue tomorrow with flag football hosted by Pitt State at the Carnie Smith Stadium.
