LANCASTER - The Fairfield County Health Department (FCHD) and the Fairfield County Safe Communities Coalition have reported four traffic crash fatalities in Fairfield County for the period of April through June of 2024.

    • April 2024- Two fatal crashes reported
    • May 2024- One fatal crash reported
    • June 2024- One fatal crash reported

The four fatal crashes in quarter 2 of 2024 is one fewer than the five fatal crashes reported in quarter 2 of 2023. The variables contributing to these fatal accidents include, but are not limited to: distracted driving, drug-related, motorcycle-related, OVI-related, and unbelted-related variables.

The Fairfield County Safe Communities Coalition consists of community partners working together in an effort to reduce traffic-related deaths and injuries through awareness and education. In collaboration with the coalition, the Fairfield County Health Department provides quarterly fatality reports to the community.
