Another Cup team assignment for the 2025 season has been announced, with Cole Custer set to return to the Cup Series competition with the Haas Factory Team.

The team will remain a Ford team, with a sponsorship from Haas Automation and HaasTooling.com. The team will also have a technical alliance with RFK Racing and receive additional support from Ford Performance, per RACER Magazine’s Kelly Crandall .

The timing of the announcement couldn’t be better for Custer and the Haas Factory Team.

Cole Custer has been on a tear on the racetracks of late, highlighted by last weekend’s win in the Xfinity Series at Pocono Raceway. Custer beat out a crowded field for a convincing victory, his first of the 2024 season.

“I’ve grown up with Haas Automation, and having their name on my firesuit is something I take a tremendous amount of pride in. I’m driven to win for Gene and everyone at Haas Automation because they’ve been such a big part of my career,” Custer said, per RaceFace.tv . “Haas Factory Team will essentially be a new race team next year, and it’s going to take all of us to build it into an organization that can go out and win races.

“I want this opportunity and I’m ready for this challenge.”

The last two years have provided a nice resurgence for Cole Custer on the track. In addition to last weekend’s win at Pocono, Custer also won three Xfinity Series races in 2023.

That came on the heels of a three-year stretch in which Custer won only two races, though one of those was a Cup Series win in 2020.

But Custer’s best success on the track came in 2019, when he managed to win seven Xfinity Series races while landing a career-best 17 top-five finishes. He was dominant in the Xfinity Series that year, and he’d also go on to win the Xfinity Series in 2023.

Custer had previously talked about how much getting a Cup Series seat again would mean to him.

“Yeah, I mean, I’d love to,” Custer said on a USA broadcast. “You know, that’s what my career has been I guess is it’s always tied to – that relationship. I think you know what Gene Haas has done in this sport and you know it would be a dream come true to get to run that Cup car. I’ve tried to go back to the Xfinity Series to prove what I can do and try and make the most of it and you just kind of try and hope it all sorts itself out.”

    Now he’ll have that opportunity.
