SEVIER COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A man is dead and woman critically injured after a rollover crash in Sevier County on Wednesday, according to the Dept. of Public Safety .

At around 6:35 p.m. on July 17, a Jeep Cherokee was heading eastbound on I-70 near milepost 28. The road reportedly has a gradual right-hand turn in this area.

As the road curved, the Jeep struck the median, police said. The driver reportedly overcorrected, ran off the road to the right, causing the vehicle to go down an embankment and roll multiple times.

Both people inside the Jeep — a man, 20, and woman, 19 — were not wearing a seatbelt, and were ejected from the vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

“Fatigue is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash,” a press release from DPS states.
